SCOPE OF SERVICE
INLAND MONEY ORDERS
Inland money orders are those issued in the Colony for payment at any Post Office in the Colony which deals with money orders.
AMOUNT
A money order may be obtained for any sum which does not exceed $400.
POUNDAGE
Poundage is charged on inland money orders at the rate of:
1 cent per dollar or part of a dollar, with a minimum charge of 5 cents.
PURCHASE
A requisition form is supplied to intending purchasers at all money order offices. The full name, title, or designation of the payee and of the remitter should be entered on the form.
CROSSING
The purchaser should state, on the requisition form, whether he wishes the order to be crossed like a cheque, or he may cross the order himself.
ADVICE OF PAYMENT
For a supplementary fee of 40c. payable at the time of the issue of the order or subse- quently, the sender will be furnished with the date of payment of the order.
TRANSMISSION OF ORDER ·
A money order is handed to the purchaser to be sent to the payee. and advice is sent from the issuing office to the paying office.
