Customs declaration: Three non-adhesive forms and despatch note. A separate despatch note and set of customs declarations must be prepared for each parcel in all cases.

Prohibitions: Charged butane gas lighters and refills; gold and silver ware; fountain pens and pencil holders ornamented with precious metals; leather goods; coffee essences and coffee substitutes.

Restrictions: For the importation of commercial goods the addressee must be in possession of an Import permit issued by the Biro Deisen Perdagangan (Bureau of Commercial Foreign Bills) of Indonesia.

The parcels must also contain a copy of the invoice showing the number and date of the permit, and the number and date of the permit must also be indicated on the customs declaration forms.

Commercial parcels containing printed matter, including books, must be addressed to a bank designated by the addressee.

Restrictions also apply to the importation of cinematograph films; firearms and parts thereof; plants and parts of plants (including fruit, seeds and potatoes). Packing and marking: Parcels containing films or articles of celluloid must be clearly labelled, "CELLULOID TO BE KEPT AWAY FROM FIRE AND LIGHT". Similar labels must be affixed to the relative despatch notes. Gift parcels: Gift parcels may be sent without application for an Import licence provided that they are bona fide gifts from private persons in this Colony and are clearly marked to the effect that they contain unsolicited gifts, the contents of gift parcels must not exceed 300 rupiahs in value and any parcel containing goods of a greater value requires an import permit which should be obtained by the addressee.
