Customs declaration: Two non-adhesive forms and despatch note.

Prohibitions: (Ethiopia only) Letters.

Restrictions apply to the importation of: Arms and parts of arms; certain food- stuffs (Eritrea only); proprietary medicines, serums, vaccines, virus and opotherapic products (Eritrea only), opium, morphine, cocaine and other narcotics (Eritrea only); plants and parts of plants including seeds (Eritrea only); tobacco in any form; weights and measures (Eritrea only).

Import licences are necessary for all parcels sent to Eritrea for commercial purposes and applications for licences must be made by the addressee to the Trade Commissioner, Eritrea. Parcels sent under import licence must be endorsed Commercial and parcels not sent for commercial purposes must be endorsed Private, not Commercial Purposes.

Certificate of origin: If a certificate of origin is required in respect of a particular parcel sent to Eritrea it may be enclosed in the parcel, provided the customs declaration and the cover of the parcel are noted Certificate of origin enclosed. If the certificate relates to more parcels than one, the customs declarations and the cover of each parcel should be suitably noted as to which parcel contains the certificate.

Invoice: A detailed invoice with indication as to contents as well as value must be enclosed, the invoice must be certified correct and legalized by a legal authority of the country of origin. Parcels addressed to the Bank of Ethiopia which are actually intended for various clients in Ethiopia should be clearly addressed "Bank of Ethiopia" (for Mr. ..........) P. O. Box 255, Addis Ababa.

Delivery: Addressees are notified of arrival of parcels and are required to arrange for their collection. Parcels for Ethiopia may be cleared only from Addis Ababa or Dire Dawa; delivery charges are collected.
