Gift Parcels: Gift parcels

Gift parcels may only contain articles for the personal use of the addressee or his family and will in general be admitted free of customs duty and without import restrictions. Such parcels should be clearly marked GIFT PARCELS. A cer- tificate of disinfection certified by a competent authority must accompany all parcels containing used clothing, etc.

Commercial parcels may be subject to import restrictions, and senders are advised to ascertain from the addressee, before despatching a commercial parcel, whether an import licence is required. A detailed invoice should be enclosed in each parcel.

Despatch papers: If an import licence is sent with a consign- ment of parcels it should be enclosed in one of them and all the parcels and relative despatch notes and customs declarations should be marked with the post office serial number of the parcel containing the licence,
