5. Coffee

7. Dyestuffs (synthetic, organic)

The gross weight of each packet must not exceed eight ounces, and Customs duty at the appropriate rate will be charged. Each packet must be marked c/o THE OFFICER OF CUSTOMS AND EXCISE in addition to bearing the full name and address of the addressee and a declaration that the contents are of no commercial value. A Post Office fee of 6d. for clearance through the Customs will be charged on each packet on which Customs duty is levied.

Goods (excluding textiles) liable to duty under the Import Duties Act, 1932, and/or the Ottawa Agreements Act, 1932

Packets containing articles which are genuine trade samples of goods liable to duty only under the Import Duties Act, 1932, and/or the Ottawa Agree- ments Act, 1932, may be imported free of duty subject to the following conditions:-

The samples must not have any saleable value, if necessary being effectively disfigured or muti- lated. Only one sample of the same descrip- tion, brand, colour or variety may be sent to each addressee.

9. Hops

Hops in packages not exceeding 16 ounces gross weight will be delivered on payment of duty at a flat rate of 8d. each package.

10. Playing cards

Packages containing one or two packs only will be delivered free of duty provided that one of the corners of each card has been cut to the extent of half an inch along the side and end.
