Limitations of service and special conditions

The outer covering of a parcel containing a firearm or bolt action or trigger action of a firearm sent separately must bear a notification that a firearm, bolt action or trigger action of a firearm is enclosed.
COMPENSATION is not payable for damage to parcels containing liquids, lique-
fiable substances, or glass or other brittle articles.
PROHIBITIONS: letters; coupons and so on relating to football pools; firearms,
except under permit.
RESTRICTIONS apply to the importation of: drugs; grass seed; plants and parts of plants and bulbs; saccharine and similar substances; scents and other preparations containing alcohol; spirits and wines; tobacco in any form. PACKING: parcels must be packed in strong wooden boxes, in metal boxes,
or in a leather covering.
PROHIBITIONS: letters; bees and crude bees-wax.
RESTRICTIONS apply to the importation of fish and meat and preparations
thereof and poultry; grapes; plants and parts of plants; spirits.
ADDRESS: the name of the Canton should be included.
CUSTOMS DECLARATIONS should be made out in French as well as in English. In the case of parcels containing watches the number of articles and the value of each article should be shown.
CUSTOMS DUTY: parcels not exceeding 100 grammes (approx. 31 ounces) in weight are admitted free of duty, except those containing manufactured tobacco. Duty is waived if it does not amount to 20 centimes.
