INLAND POST

Inland Post

The regulations of the Inland post apply generally to any postal packet sent between one place and another in Hong Kong, Kowloon and the New Territories.

The classes of postal packets admitted to the Inland post are:-letters, postcards, printed papers, commer- cial papers, circulars, samples, newspapers, articles for the blind and parcels.

Letters

The prepaid rate of postage is as follows:-

4 cents for each ounce or part of an ounce. The limit of weight is 4 lbs.

The limits of size are:-

Two feet in length, 18 inches in width and 18 inches in depth; or if made up in a form of a roll, 3 feet 3 inches for the length and twice the diameter combined, and 2 feet 8 inches for the greatest dimension.

A letter if posted unpaid, except under the business reply service, is charged on delivery with double post- age; if posted underpaid, with double the amount of the deficiency.

All correspondence of a personal character, whe- ther wholly or partly in writing or prepared by type- writer or other similar process, whether in a sealed envelope or not, and also all other articles (except parcels) closed against inspection, are subject to letter rate of postage.
