set up for the 24th Meeting of the World Federation for Medical Health at the City Hall from 22nd to 24th November, 1971, and for the Festival of Hong Kong Stamp Exhibition at Kowloon Park from 27th November, 1971 to 5th December, 1971.
40. During the celebration of the 60th Anniversary of Scouting in Hong Kong, a temporary Mobile Post Office was in operation at the Diamond Jubilee Jamboree Camp at Castle Peak from 22nd to 28th July, 1971.
Overseas Services
41. The routings of both air and surface mail to destinations overseas were kept under constant review to make optimum use of the airline and shipping services available.
42. During the year additional direct despatches were introduced as follows:

44. The outgoing mail traffic generally indicated a down trend as compared with the steady increases recorded in previous years. This was mainly due to the sharp reduction in the postings of promotional and advertising mailings by Mail Order firms, and in particular the decline in the use of aerogrammes for such purposes.
45. The total numbers of unregistered letters and packets posted in Hong Kong for airmail transmission were estimated at 46.5 million,
