42. One vehicle was brought into use during the year to augment the posting box collection service in Kowloon, bringing the fleet of vehicles used for postal purposes to 67.
43. Since the 11th January, 1970 a majority of those Branch Offices which have been consistently doing less business on Saturdays than on other days have remained closed on Saturday afternoons. The large offices, particularly those operating delivery services, continue to open all day six days a week.
44. As in previous years, a temporary post office was opened at the 27th Exhibition of Hong Kong Products for the period 28th November, 1969 to 6th January, 1970.
45. Temporary post offices were also set up for the U.F.T.A.A. World Congress at City Hall from 23rd September, 1969 to 1st October, 1969 and for the Festival of Hong Kong Stamp Exhibition at Kowloon Park from 9th to 14th December, 1969.
46. During the Annual Agricultural Exhibition, sponsored by the Agriculture and Fisheries Department, at Shek Kong from 12th to 15th December, 1969 a mobile post office was in attendance daily to provide posting facilities for the exhibitors and visitors.
Overseas Services
47. The circulation of mail was kept under constant review. Suitable changes were made when justified by the availability of new outlets and volume of traffic.
