104. No less than nine teams competed for the "Hogarth" Miniature Football Shield, the Postmen (Hong Kong) beating the Hong Kong Sorting Clerks in an excellent and well played final. This friendly rivalry between clerical and uniformed staff is an exceptionally well appreciated feature of this competition.
105. Badminton was introducd during the year and equip- ment supplied on loan. It promises to be an extremely popular innovation.
106. Canteen Facilities. Under its new manager the staff canteen functioned smoothly in supplying cheap wholesome food to the staff. With the inevitable shift duties in this Department the canteen is one of the most essential and important amenities.
CONCLUSION
107. This year has again been one of new records and rapidly expanding work and activities, restricted only in it's further advancement by lack of space. The staff have as usual worked loyally under the most trying conditions of congestion, and I have nothing but praise for their team work and co-operation which despite the adverse circumstances nevertheless produces such excellent results.
108. Complaint which, in a Post Office handling millions of items is inevitable, is nevertheless negligible, whilst on the other hand praise, both verbal and written, is of almost everyday occurrence. I would, however, conclude by recording that such praise has been fully merited by all my staff to whom I am indeed. grateful for unfailing loyalty and support.
