23. Nothing in this Ordinance shall be so construed as to forbid Exceptions to

( 1. ) Of rice, bread, milk, salt-fish , or confectionery.
( 2. ) Of green vegetables , fruit , bean - curd , congee, soup , or
other prepared food by licensed hawkers.
( 3. ) Of fish, by licensed boatmen at a distance of at least one
hundred yards from shore.
(4. ) Of cooked provisions to customers by any licensed vict
ualler or keeper of a boarding house or refreshment
room .
( 5. ) Of any food commonly sold by chandlers and purveyors
not being raw butchers ' meat .
(6. ) Public sales by licensed auctioneers .
