Electricity Supply (Special Areas) Regulations

(2) If during an inspection under paragraph (1) any part of a consumer's installation is found to be defective or otherwise in breach of these regulations, the company shall serve upon the consumer a notice requiring him to remedy such defect or breach, as the case may be, within such reasonable time as the company shall specify in the notice.

(3) If a consumer fails to comply with a notice served under paragraph (2) the company shall decline to supply electricity to the premises concerned and shall not connect the supply until the defect or breach has been remedied and any reasonable charge for retesting has been paid to it by the consumer.

(4) A notice under paragraph (2) shall be sufficiently served if sent by post to the consumer's premises or left at such premises.

(5) Any company which contravenes paragraph (1) or (3) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine of $2,000.

Any person who, without having first obtained approval from the company, connects or authorizes or permits the connection of any consumer's installation to the company's mains, or makes or authorizes or permits the making of any addition or extension to any consumer's installation which has not been approved by the company shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on summary conviction to imprisonment for 3 months and a fine of $2,000 and, in the case of a continuing offence, to a further penalty of $100 for each day during which the offence continues.

12. Any person, other than an employee of the company, who interferes with a company's seals at the company's meter terminals shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on summary conviction to imprisonment for 3 months and a fine of $2,000.

13. The Electricity Supply Regulations, with the exception of regulations 13(4) and 25 to 34, shall apply to and in respect of special areas.
