COMMODITIES TRADING

To provide for the establishment of a commodity exchange, to control the trading in commodity futures contracts and to provide for matters connected therewith and incidental thereto.

PART I

PRELIMINARY

1. Short title

This Ordinance may be cited as the Commodities Trading Ordinance.

2. Interpretation

(1) In this Ordinance, unless the context otherwise requires-

"auditor" means a professional accountant registered and holding a practising certificate under the Professional Accountants Ordinance (Cap. 50);

"clearing house" means a clearing house for the registration and settlement of futures contracts and the day-to-day adjustment of the financial position of futures contracts which is used by the Exchange Company in accordance with section 13(3); (Replaced 61 of 1985 s. 2)

"Commission" means the Securities and Futures Commission established under the Securities and Futures Commission Ordinance (Cap. 24); (Amended 10 of 1989 s. 65)

"commodities trading" includes trading in commodity futures contracts; (Added 61 of 1985 s. 2)
