(3) An officer being a widower without children pensionable under this Ordinance who leaves the public service with or without pension on retirement or on dismissal or otherwise, shall cease to contribute and to have any rights under this Ordinance. In any such case one-half of the contributions made as aforesaid by him since the death of his last wife or if at the death of such wife any child continued to be pensionable, after the time when such child ceased to be pensionable, shall be repaid without interest to such officer.

(4) An officer being a widower with children pensionable under this Ordinance at the time when he leaves the public service shall on the last of such children ceasing to be
