BANK NOTES ISSUE.

To regulate the issue of bank notes and to provide for Originally
certain notes being legal tender and for purposes Fraser ancillary thereto.

This Ordinance may be cited as the Bank Notes Short title.
Issue Ordinance.
2. In this Ordinance-
Interpretation.
"bank" includes any person, partnership, or company carrying on the business of banking within the Colony;

"bank notes lawfully issued" means notes issued in the 54 of 1935, s. 2.
Colony by any of the note-issuing banks in accordance with the provisions of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Ordinance, the Mercantile Bank (Cap. 70.) Note Issue Ordinance, and the charter of incorporation (Cap. 71.) of The Chartered Bank of India, Australia and China,
or any supplemental charter of that bank, or issued
in accordance with the above-mentioned provisions as
modified by the Currency Ordinance, 1935, or by this (54 of 1935). Ordinance;
"note-issuing bank" means The Chartered Bank of India, 21 of 1939, s. 2.
