(16) Nothing in this Ordinance shall be construed as exempting launches, ferry vessels, or motor boats from compliance with the regulations for the prevention of collisions which are in force in the Colony under or by virtue of the provisions of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1894.

River steamers.

38.(1) Every passenger certificate issued to a river steamer shall specify the number of passengers which she may lawfully carry.

Regulations as to passenger certificates for river steamers.

(2) Such number shall be subject to such conditions as the Governor in Council may direct by regulations.

(3) The owner or master of any river steamer leaving or entering the waters of the Colony with passengers on board in excess of the number authorized by her passenger certificate shall be liable to a fine not exceeding two hundred and fifty dollars, and, in addition, to a fine not exceeding five dollars for every passenger on board in excess of the number authorized by her passenger certificate.
