An Ordinance to consolidate and amend the laws relating to malicious injuries to property.
[14th June, 1865.]
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Malicious Damage Ordinance, 1865.
Setting fire to church, etc.
Injuries by fire to buildings and goods therein.
2. Every person who unlawfully and maliciously sets fire to any church, chapel, meeting house, or other place of divine worship shall be guilty of felony, and shall be liable to imprisonment for life, and, if a male under the age of sixteen years, with or without whipping.

Setting fire to house, a person being therein.
3. Every person who unlawfully and maliciously sets fire to any dwelling-house, any person being therein, shall be guilty of felony, and shall be liable to imprisonment for life, and, if a male under the age of sixteen years, with or without whipping.

Every person who unlawfully and maliciously sets fire to any house, stable, coach-house, out-house, warehouse, godown, office, shop, store, mill, storehouse, granary, hovel, shed, or fold, or to any farm building, or to any building or erection used in farming land or in carrying on any trade or business, shall be guilty of felony.
