2. In this Ordinance,

guard includes any soldier or sentry belonging to His Majesty's regular troops who is employed on military duty in any battery, field-work, or fortification.

3. Every person who enters any battery, field-work, or fortification, unless he is the bearer of a written order for that purpose duly granted to him by the officer in command of His Majesty's regular forces in this Colony, or unless he is an officer or warrant officer of the army, navy, marine or air forces in uniform or a non-commissioned officer of the army, navy, marine or air forces on duty, shall upon summary conviction be liable to a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars, or to imprisonment for any term not exceeding three months.

4. Any order granted to any contractor employed by the Commanding Royal Engineer shall cover all Chinese labourers specifically mentioned in such order actually employed on work in any such battery, field-work, or fortification.

5. If any person, not being an officer or warrant officer of the army, navy, marine or air forces in uniform or a non-commissioned officer of the army, navy, marine or air forces on duty, enters, or attempts to enter, or is found in any such battery, field-work, or fortification, any guard may require such person to show his order for the purpose, and if such person, on being so required, does not produce and show his order or if the said guard suspects that the order produced and shown to him is not an order duly granted to such person or not sufficient authority for such person to be in the said battery, field-work, or fortification, he may arrest such person forthwith and deliver him into the charge of an officer of police.
