REGULATIONS RESPECTING SHIPS UNDER GENERAL OR OUTPORT LICENCE ON SHORT VOYAGES.
1. No emigrant ship licensed under general or outport licence under the provisions of the Asiatic Emigration Ordinance, 1915, shall depart clear out or proceed to sea on any short voyage unless the master thereof has received from an Emigration Officer a copy of these regulations and a certificate in the form in the Appendix to these regulations, nor until the master has entered into the bond in the form set out in the Second Schedule to the said Ordinance.
2. No Emigration Officer shall be bound to give such certificate until seven days after receiving from the owners or charterers of the ship, or if they are absent from their respective agents, an application in writing for the same and a notice that the ship is laid on for the conveyance of emigrants, nor, where the number of emigrants on board exceeds fifty, unless there are on board a medical officer and interpreter duly approved by such Emigration Officer.
