SURVEYOR GENERAL (CHANGE OF NAME).

An Ordinance to give effect to the change in name and style of the Surveyor General and Surveyor General's Department.
[1st April, 1892.]
WHEREAS the Governor has been pleased to direct that the Surveyor General shall henceforth be known as and styled the Director of Public Works, and that the Surveyor General's Department shall be known as and styled the Public Works Department, and it is expedient to give effect to such direction.
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Surveyor General (Change of Name) Ordinance, 1892.
2. Wherever in any Ordinance, order of the Governor in Council, order of the Governor, rule, regulation, or by-law, or in any deed, lease, or other document, the expression "Surveyor General", "Surveyor General's Department", or "Surveyor General's Office", or any similar expression occurs, and in order to give effect thereto it is necessary to substitute the expression "Director of Public Works", "Public Works Department", "Public Works Office", or other similar expression, such Ordinance, or other document shall be read and construed accordingly.

[1st April, 1892.]
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Patents Ordinance, 1892.
2. (1) It shall be lawful for the inventor, or for the assignee by assignment, transmission, or other operation of law, of any invention or of the exclusive right thereto in this Colony, to petition the Governor for letters patent.
