LARCENY:

30. Every person who assaults any person with intent to rob shall be guilty of felony, and shall (save and except in the cases where a greater punishment is provided by this Ordinance) be liable to imprisonment for any term not exceeding three years.

31. Every person who-

(1) being armed with any offensive weapon or instrument, robs, or assaults with intent to rob, any person; or,

(2) together with one or more other person or persons, robs, or assaults with intent to rob, any person; or,

(3) robs any person, and, at the time of or immediately before or immediately after such robbery, wounds, beats, strikes, or uses any other personal violence to any person, shall be guilty of felony and shall be liable to imprisonment for life.

32. Every person who sends, delivers, or utters, or directly or indirectly causes to be received, knowing the contents thereof, any letter or writing demanding of any person with menaces, and without any reasonable or probable cause, any property, chattel, money, valuable security, or other valuable thing shall be guilty of felony, and shall be liable to imprisonment for life, and, if a male under the age of sixteen years, with or without whipping.

33. Every person who, with menaces or by force, demands any property, chattel, money, valuable security, or other valuable thing of any person, with intent to steal the same, shall be guilty of felony, and shall be liable to imprisonment for any term not exceeding three years.
