HONGKONG.

Warrant of Commitment on a Conviction where the Punishment is by Imprisonment.

IN THE POLICE COURT AT HONGKONG.

To each and all of the Constables of the said Colony and to the Superintendent of the Gaol in the said Colony.

C.D. (hereinafter called the defendant) has been this day convicted before the said Court for that he [state the offence as in the conviction]; and it has been adjudged that the defendant be for his said offence imprisoned in the said Gaol [and there kept to hard labour] for the space of ... : These are, therefore, to command you the said Constables, to take the defendant and convey him to the said Gaol, and there to deliver him to the said Superintendent, together with this warrant; and you, the said Superintendent, to receive the defendant into your custody in the said Gaol and there to imprison him [and keep him to hard labour] for the space of ... and for your so doing this shall be your sufficient warrant.

IN THE POLICE COURT AT HONGKONG.

To each and all of the Constables of the said Colony and to the Superintendent of the Gaol in the said Colony.

On the ... day of ... 19..., complaint was made before the undersigned, [or J.P., Esquire,] a Magistrate of the said Colony, for that [recite, as in the order; and afterwards, to wit, on the ... day of ... 19... the said parties appeared before me [or as in the order]; and thereupon, having considered the matter of the said complaint, it was ordered that the defendant should [as in the order]; and it was adjudged that if, upon a copy of the minute of that order being duly served on the defendant, either personally or by leaving the same for him at his last or most usual place of abode, he should refuse or neglect to obey the same, in such case the defendant for such his disobedience should be imprisoned in the said Gaol [and there kept to hard labour] for the space of ... unless the said order should be sooner obeyed; and it having been now proved to me that, after the making of the said order, a copy of the minute thereof was duly served on the defendant, but he then refused [or neglected] to obey the same, and has not as yet obeyed the same: These are, therefore, to command you, the said Constables, to take the defendant and convey him to the said Gaol, and there to deliver him to the said Superintendent, together with this warrant; and you, the said Superintendent, to receive the defendant into your custody in the said Gaol and there to imprison him [and keep him to hard labour] for the space of ... and for your so doing this shall be your sufficient warrant.
