Order of Release by Governor-in-Council.

THE MACAO EXTRADITION ORDINANCE, 1881.

HONGKONG.

To the Superintendent of the Gaol. Whereas one
is now in your custody as a fugitive under the provisions of the above-mentioned Ordinance; and whereas it has been determined that no extradition order shall be granted in respect of the said fugitive: You are hereby ordered to release the said
from custody under the above-mentioned Ordinance.

Governor-in-Council may direct census, and appoint officers.

Making of necessary arrangements.

Preparation of schedules.

Regulations.

To make provision for taking from time to time the Census of the Colony.

1. The Census Ordinance, 1881.

[14th March, 1881.]

2.--(1) The Governor-in-Council may authorise and direct a census to be taken of the inhabitants of the Colony at such times as he thinks fit, and may appoint such census officers as may be necessary for the purpose of conducting the census and acting as enumerators, and may cancel such appointments.

(2) Notice of the intention to take such census, and of the date of such intended taking, shall be published in the Gazette at least 10 days previously.

3. The officers so appointed shall, in accordance with the instructions of the Governor, make such arrangements as may be necessary for the purpose.

4. Schedules shall be prepared for the purpose of being filled up by or on behalf of the several occupiers of every dwelling house or place of residence in the Colony, and by or on behalf of the persons on board every vessel in the waters of the Colony, with such particulars as to the Governor-in-Council may seem fit.

5. The Governor-in-Council may make regulations for carrying out this Ordinance, and all such regulations shall be printed in
