(3.) Nothing in this Ordinance or in any repeal effected thereby shall affect the enactments relating to bills of sale or any enactment relating to the sale of goods which is not expressly repealed by this Ordinance.

(4.) The provisions of this Ordinance relating to contracts of sale shall not apply to any transaction in the form of a contract of sale which is intended to operate by way of mortgage, pledge, charge, or security.

Short title.

Placing on deposit at interest with Colonial Treasurer of moneys paid into Court.

[18th April, 1896] WHEREAS it is expedient to make provision whereby the moneys

of suitors paid into Court shall bear interest:

Be it therefore enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Suitors' Funds Ordinance, 1896.

2.-(1.) Subject to any rules to be made under this Ordinance, all moneys paid into the Supreme Court shall, unless required by written law to be dealt with in any particular way or unless authorized or required by any order of Court to be laid out in any particular investment, be placed, by direction of the Registrar of the Court, on deposit with the Colonial Treasurer.
