Recovery of penalties.

Award to informer.

No. 8.] THE ORDINANCES OF HONGKONG. [A.D. 1898.

40. All penalties for offences against this Ordinance may be recovered in a summary way before a Magistrate, but proceedings for the recovery of any such penalty shall be commenced within six months after the offence was committed.

41. One-half or a less portion of any penalty recovered under this Ordinance may, if the Magistrate, in his discretion, so orders, be paid to the informer.

The Governor-in-Council may from time to time alter, and repeal rules, not being inconsistent with this Ordinance, for the better carrying out of the same.
