the Company to continue incorporated under the provisions of the said Ordinance for a further term of ten years or for such period and under such provisions and conditions as might be contained in the said Ordi- nance; and whereas the said term of twenty-one years expires on the 14th day of August, 1887; and whereas it is expedient to authorize the Com- pany to continue incorporated under the provisions of the said Ordinance for a further term of twenty-one years:

Be it therefore enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the advice of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:--

Jurors.

BE it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the advice of the and No. 1

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Jury Ordinance, 1887.

2. In all civil and criminal trials and in all inquiries into the idiotey, Number of lunacy, or unsoundness of mind of any person, the jury, if any, shall, jurors on trial. except where otherwise specially provided, consist of seven men.

Every male person between the ages of twenty-one and sixty Qualifications years, being of sound mind and not afflicted with deafness, blindness, or other such infirmity, who is a good and sufficient person resident within the Colony shall be qualified and liable to serve as a juror, subject to the exceptions hereinafter provided.
