Oath of Officer and Volunteer.

I, A. B., do sincerely promise and swear that I will be faithful and true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen VICTORIA, and that I will faithfully serve Her Majesty for the defence of the Colony of Hongkong against her enemies and opposers whomsoever, according to the conditions of service.

FORM No. 2.

Declaration of Officer and Volunteer to be made in lieu of the Oath when such Officer or Volunteer objects to take the Oath.

I, A. B., do solemnly, sincerely, and truly declare that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen VICTORIA, and that I will faithfully serve Her Majesty for the defence of the Colony of Hongkong against all her enemies and opposers whomsoever, according to the conditions of my service.

NOTE The name of the successor of Her Majesty Queen VICTORIA for the time being, with proper words of reference thereto, is to be substituted as occasion may require, in the case of the Oath or Declaration.

WHEREAS it is expedient that the conditions under which dogs may be kept in this Colony should be duly regulated and that the importation and spread of rabies should be prevented :

Be it therefore enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows :

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Dogs Ordinance, 1893.

2. In this Ordinance, unless the context otherwise requires,

"Owner" includes the person in charge or apparently in charge of
