Wherever the words "The Registrar General" are repealed as aforesaid, the section shall be amended by inserting the words "a Magistrate," and shall be read as if those words had been inserted in the section originally.

3. Upon the hearing by a Magistrate of any matter arising under this Ordinance, or "The Contagious Diseases Ordinance, 1867," or upon the hearing of an appeal from the determination of the Magistrate in any such matter, the Magistrate or the Court (as the case may be) may hear the matter in private, unless the person accused or affected desire publicity, and, in addition to all other powers, may order that all persons not directly interested in the matter be kept excluded from the place of hearing.

4. No proceedings under this Ordinance, or under "The Contagious Diseases Ordinance, 1867," shall be commenced before a Magistrate, except at the instance, or with the sanction, of the Attorney General or of the Registrar General.

5. The three preceding sections of this Ordinance shall be read with "The Contagious Diseases Ordinance, 1867," and shall be taken to be incorporated therewith; and upon the issue of any new edition of the Ordinances, the provisions of the said three sections may be inserted in the said Ordinance; sections 3 and 4 hereof may be printed next after the section now numbered 71 of the said Ordinance, and the other sections thereof may be renumbered.

at some of the Coast Ports, and it is expedient to repeal the same with the view of making further provision in that behalf: Be it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the advice of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-

1. The Ordinance No. 1 of 1876 is hereby repealed, and the enactments thereby repealed are, from the date of the passing hereof, revived as if the said Ordinance had not been passed.
