A letter from Copenhagen of the 20th, says,--- "We have received news of the war corvette the Galatea, which is now making a voyage of circam- navigation--they are dated the 31st October, from Honolulu, the capital of the Sandwich (elanda. Cap- tain Bille, commandant of the Galatea, his officers, and the members of the scientific committee had been received by the King Kamehameh III. (first Chris- tian King of the Sandwich Islands,) who presented them to his wife and children. great Jack which he had imposed upon himself of civilising his subjects. This prince having ex- pressed a wish that a Danish consul should be no- minated in the Sandwich lalands, M. Bille charged M. Sewerkop, partner of the German house of Schinner & Co., of Honolulu, to undertake pravi sionally the functions of concular agent of Denmark. M. Bille gave a dinner and ball on board the G. latea, at which the King, Queen, and the royal fa mily, the foreign compol, and the officers of the English and French vessels of war in the port, were present.
