The entries were 39 vessels, with 11,536 munago, in 1814, and 21 vessels, with 7,607 kmusge, in 1945,~ The gross results of the return are a total increase in the entries inwards of 55 vessels, with 38,655 tonnage. The great in. crease appeare eo have been in arrivals from Catenita, Ma dras, Chins, and the Cape of Good Hope; and the decrease appears to be in amvals from Bojabay, the Philippine Isi lands, and Java and Sumatra.
The statistics of the clearances outwards give an increase in favour of the port of London for 1845 of 61 tessels, with 35,639 tonnage, the number for 1844 being 449 vesels, with 186.917 tounage; and for the later period, 500 vessels, with 231,556 tonnage. The return for Liverpool gives an increase of 18 vessels, with 15,858 tonnage. The departures, from this place in 1844 were 320 vessels, with 119,340 tonnage; and in 1885 they amounted to 338 vessels, with 135, 198 tone uage! The clearances from Bristol and Hall were 14 ves- sels, with 2,795 tonnage, less than last year, the number of vestets leaving in 1841 being 24, with 7,014 tonnage, and in t 1845, 10 with 4,218 tonnage. The reture for the Clyde and other parts shows a decrease, in 1845, of 13 vessels with 463 tonnage, the respective numbers being 173 vernels with 69 84€ - tonade in 1844, and 159 vessels, with 60,176 tonnage, in 1845. It will be perceived in this case that although the number of vessels has decreased the amount of connage des. - patched is not gready deficient. The gross results of the returi sre, that the increase in favour of 1845 of clearances outivarda is 42 vessels, with 48,233 tonnage. A comiderabló jucrease appears to have taken place in the clearances for Calcutts, Ceylon, Arabia, and New South Wales, which, however, is balanced in a certain degree by the decrease in the departures to Arabia and the Cape of Good Hope,

The market has been dull, with little basiness, but more inquiry has sprang up, and holders are extubating an improv ed tone. Yume continue in fair inquiry, price are steady, Stocks of all descriptions of staple manufactures, excepting the lower qualities of 40-inch long cloth, are moderately light, and fancy goods are quite scarce. The policy of the inang. facturers of such fabrice appears to be, to produce only to order, so that shippers find little warlely in stock for imme- diate exigencies.
