FOR CEYLON ENGLAND AND INTERMEDIATE PORTS.
THE Steam Ship LADY MARY WOOD, Captain Cooper, with Her Majesty's Mails, will leave this for the above places 2. on the 1st of March; 1846. Cargo will be received on board until noon, and specie until 4 r. M. on Saturday the 28th Inst. This route offers an opportunity of visiting Singapore and Pinang, re- maining a few days at Ceylon, thence to Madras or Calcutta in 34 days from leaving China. Steamers are also understood to ply between Colombo and Bombay Specie, Silk, and other Goods, may be. forwarded by this route to Madras and Calcutta, and will be retained on board the Steamer at Galle until the arrival of the Suez Steamer for those pluccs, when they will he transhipped free of ex- pense. Arrangements are made in the Steamers throughout for the convenience of the Native Mer- chants of India, proceeding as passengers and cer- tain accommodation is reserved in those from Cal- cutta, for Passengers from China, joining the Suez line at Galle, to secure which it is requisite that a notice of at least two months be given to the Company's Agent here.
Information regarding the rates of freight and passage can he obtained by application at the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Comp's Office; and shippers are requested to take Notice that a Shipping order cannot he granted unless the contents and value be distinctly marked on the outside of each package for overland transit.
