TYPHOON IN THE CHINA SEAS. INTERRUPTION the voyage of H. M. STEAMER DRIVER IN PROGRESS TO NEW ZEALAND. -Her Majesty'y War Steamer Driver, strived at Singapore from Sea on the 22nd instant, and as some particulars of the cause of her unexpected visit cannot fail to prove interesting, we are enabled to present our readers with some account of her cruise.

We wonder that the Bashee Islands are not more frequented by ships, especially as stock and provi. sions at Hongkong are so very expensive. The Governor and inhabitants are represented to be an xious to trade and vessels frequenting that neigh- bourhood may be assured of an hospitable recep. tion from all, not excepting the worthy friars inha biting the convent.

As a specimen of the price of provisions, on the authority of our intelligent informant, we may ob- serve that Bullocks are to be had from 7 to 10 dal. lars each-Goats 1 to 1 Rupees, which are said to be very fine-and Pigs at about a rupee each Vegetables, Fruit, &re almost for carrying away, for such is their abundance that scarcely anything is demanded for a sufficient amount for a ship's use, Her Majesty's War Steamer Driter was in this port some months ago-She is a beautiful vessel, with three 68 pounders of 10 inches calibre. From the weight of her guns, the gallantry of her officers and the manly bearing of her crew, we cannot but regret that the above enumerated hindrances should have occurred, to postpone for a louger! period, the severe chastisement which Heki and the murderous chiefs in the Bay of Islands deserve,
