The Hon'blo the Recorder addressing the mem- bers of thee Grand Jury observed:-It was highly gratifying to notice that the Calendar was a light one. There were about Thirty cases, not very long; amongst which he regretted to notice thres casce for murder. In one of these the principal evi- [dence to be relied on was the dying dechisation of the deceased, but which was somewhat defficient, it be ing made about one month before his death. In the next case of murder, the witnessca contradicted each other most Brossly. The third case was that of a man who was murdered in the harbour; one person Salt provisions, Flour, Canvas, European Rope, was apprehenstext and subsequently two others were Anchors, Chains Pitch, Tar, Varnish, Paints, also apprehended, charged with the murder.
