NOTICE having been issued by the Senior Society calling a general meeting to be held at Canton on the 26th March, contrary to the requisi- tion of a majority of the committee, and to the expressed wishes of a majority of all the members of the Society in Chin. I am directed by the Com mittee to intimats that, in accordance with the original requisition, approved of by all the members of the committeo except one, and those constituting a majority of off the members of the Society in China, and in accordance with the express 'd wishes

"of all the Medical Officers of the Society except ono. # General meeting of the Medical Mis sionary Society in China will be held at Hongkong on Saturday the 19th April atin & past 4 o'clock for the transaction of general business.

I am father directed to state that, with extreme regret the committee have received intimation, that a meeting was held in Canton on the 26th March, at which one officer and two other member of the Society only were present, and assuming to be a meeting of the Medical Missionary Society in China and reluctantly to declare that the said meeting, being convened and hill in apposition to the expressed, views of a majority of the Society, did not constitute a meeting of the Medical Mis- sionary. Society.
