The Rev. P. Parker having been called to the chair, and Mr. R. J. Cuiman requested to act as secretary to the meeting,
Dr Parker stated that the present meeting had been called in accordance with a notice published in the Hongkong papers of ist March. He alluded to the signal blessing of Providence that had at tended the society hitherto, that it had already ex. tended the blessings of the healing at to 30,000 and upwards of the afflicted Chinese in all the pro vinces of the Empire, and also to many some of blessings of the Gospel, and he trusted it is s'ill des.

Wednesday the 23rd proximo, be appointed for such meeting, to vote on the retention or alteration of the first article of the constitution, and that meantime there be no disbursement of the funds of the society in the treasurer's hands, or change in the situation of its property,

THURSDAY FEBRUARY 6. -Prince Waldemar and his two Aids-de-camp arrived at the hospitable mansion of Mr. Ravens- haw, the Commissioner at Patna, on the 24th, where his Royal Highness was most hospitable re- crivet, and remained till the 31st, on the evening of which day he started for Katmandoo; every political difficulty relative to his visit having been removed. During the Prince's residence at Di napore, he desired to dispense with all ceremonials and guards of honour, and to be regarded strictly as a private gentleman.

As proof of the inaccurancy of the statement that it was in accordance with the expressed "wishes of all the members expect one." he said it was ambiguous. If it meant all but one of the committee, it was inaccurate, as the treasurer as well as himself dissented, and if it referred to the Rociety, the documents that had been read proved to the contrary, and that at least there were thirteen members of the society in China, of which five would not constitute a majority, and that conclusions drawn from inagcurate premises must also be
