Conolly. had been taken to the palace of the Khan six days after the departure of the Russian mission in 1842; but he was not sware, what had been done with them, observing at the same time that it was not usual to put any person to death in the Khan's palaco, sul that he had not heard at Bokhara that they had been executed, a gontleman who was attached to M, do Boutonieff's mission at Bokhars, however, told Lord Stuart de Rothesay that the statement of the leader of the caravan, that execu| tions never took place in the Khan's palace, was incorrect, for that he had heard of several during his residence.
