NOTICE.
WITH reference to a letter addressed to me, by J. W. BENNETT, and published in the Hongkong pa- pera, I would state for the Information of the creditors of the said J. W BENNETT, that at the time that letter was published. I had no further acquaintance with the affairs of MR. BENNETT than a cursory Inspection of his Books enabled me to form, and by then the accounts mentioned in the letter most assuredly appear- ed due to the Estate, Now however, that I have recei- ved most of the claims on the Estate and have had an opportunity of more minutely examining the books, I find that the account of assets was greatly overrated. I therefore consider it due to myself to contradict the statement then made. At the meeting of the creditors, which I have called I have no doubt of being able to explain satisfactorily how this discrepancy arose.
