BEPTEMBER 20th, John Ralph and Edwin Holloway Seaman of the Cornwall charged by Sergeant Colling with being drunk.

Bergeant Collins deposes, yesterday afternoon I was sent for by Mr. Case of the Army & Navy Tavern,

I went and found the two Prisoners there drunk. Thomas Farnham of the Police corroborates the testimony of Sergeant Collins.

DEFENUE. The Prisoners acknowledge their crime, and state that they went into the Navy & Army Tav. arn and gave a dotlar, for a case bottle of Gin. This shared between 7 of us and we two became in. foxicated.

SENTENOR. Fined one dollar each to the Queen. SEPTEMBER 201h. Mr. Case of the Navy & Army Tavern, charged with relling Liquor to Sailors' yester. day by which men were made drunk,

and Edwin-Holloway, being sworo de. pose, that they paid one dollar for a bottle of Gin to Robert Lawry of the Navy & Arny Tavern poster day and with which they became drunk.

Robert Lawry called in states, I am Butler to Mr. Cage. I did give a bottle of Gin to a scaunen yester. day for one dollar, but not to these men, I did not know that I was doing wrong. We have a place below |_ for seamen to drink in: they frequently drink there but

DEFENCE. Mr. Case states, the sale of Liquors at about the Navy & Ariny Tavern to Soldiers and Sailors is agalust my orders, this case happened without my knowledge, and I am exceedingly sorry for it.
