Lodgement of muclained Balan- es in a chartered Bank.

III. And be it further enacted and ordained, that it shall be lawful for the Governor or Officer administering the Government in his discretion to direct that all or any unclaimed Balances as aforesaid at any time previous to the expiration of six years as aforesaid, be lodged in a chartered Bank within this Colony, under such securities as shall be satisfactory to him, at such rate of interest as may be procurable, and that the amount of such interest shall be added to, and considered portion of, such unclaimed Balance as aforesaid.

His Excellency Sir John Bowring has received from His Excellency The Captain General of the Philippine Islands, a Despatch, dated Manilla 30th April, 1854, stating that, in conformity with the intentions previously communicated to the Superintendency of Trade, which were published in the Government Gazette, No. 86 of 12 May last, the Ports of Sual, in the Province of Pangasinan, and of Hoylo and Zamboanga, in the Provinces of the same names, were opened to Trade on the 1st May

last.
