The following Return of Notes in Circulation and Specie in Reserve at the Bank of the Oriental Bank Corporation in Hongkong, is published for general information.

HE PENINSULAR AND ORIENTAL STEAM NAVIGATION
THORPANY regret to announce, that in consequence
of the great increase in the price of Coals, and in other items of expenditure connected with the Navigation of their Steamers, they have been compelled to recur to Charges for PASSAGE MONEY similar to those existing previous to the commencement of last year, when it will be remembered a considerable Reduction was made.
The Company trust that the circumstances which have obliged them to adopt this measure will not be of long duration; but in the meantime, on and after this day, und until further notice, the Fares to Southampton. in- cluding the Expense of Transit through Egypt, will be as follows:-
