I have laid this Address before The Queen, and I am command- Despatch, on the subject of the Purchase of Chinese Females, ed to instruct you to convey to the Gentlemen from whom it proceeds for Foreign Countries. the high sense Her Majesty entertains of their loyalty and attach- ment to Her person and Government, and to assure them that Her Majesty fully appreciates the feelings by which they were actuated in thus giving expression to their sentiments on the present occasion. The liberal contribution to the Patriotic Fund, which you mention as coming from China, will be paid over to the Commissioners as soou as it arrives.—I have, &c.,
