The Contract for publishing this Gazette, entered into on the 24th September, 1853, was terminated on the 30th Wtimo; and notice is hereby

given, that a NEW SERIES of this Gazette will be published hereafter, to commence from the 7th instant, under a New Contract, and that

“THE HONGKONG GOVERNMENT GAZETTE”

will, as before, be the only Official Organ for PROCLamations, NotifICATIONS, and PUBLIC PAPERS, of this Government.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

With reference to Government Notification No. 46, it is hereby intimated, that amongst the Conditions of Sale as regards Lots Nos. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, will be inserted one to the effect that, on these Lots, the Buildings to be erected can only be of a Construction to be approved in writing by the Surveyor General, and of the same character as those in the immediate vicinity.
