GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.
Diplomatic Department.
It being the wish of Her Majesty's Government to be provided, without delay, with as correct a Statement as it may be possible to furnish, of the Losses recently sustained by British Subjects in consequence of the events which have taken place at Canton, Her Majesty's Plenipotentiary has to call the attention of those who have hitherto not presented any Accounts, to the necessity of their speedily doing so; and in cases where the Statements rendered require Corrections, such corrections should be promptly made, and the Returns and Amendments forwarded in as fuli and complete a form as practicable, to the Office of the Canton Consulate.

A Written Declaration of the Contents and Value of the Packages for the Overland Route is required by the Egyptian Government, and must be delivered by the Shipper to the Company's Agents with the Bills of Lading or with Parcels; and the Company do not hold themselves responsible for any Detention or Prejudice which may happen from incorrectness on such declaration.
