It is hereby notified, that a Despatch has been received from Her Majesty's Government, stating that the Hanoverian Government has withdrawn the Exequatur from FRANZ KNOOP, Esquire, their Consul at Hongkong.

The attention of Heads of Departments of the Colonial Government is called to the Instructions of the Lorde Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury, Article No. 30, which provides, that to each Requisition upon the Colonial Treasury, under the letter L, should be attached a Memorandum at the foot of the Requisition, shewing- “What farther Sums may be required during the current year for the same work or service ;" and reference is also to be made on the Requisition-" to any Correspondence which may have taken place relative to any Item of Expenditure “estimated for, in order that the Governor may have before him the means of judging of the propriety of incurring ths
expense."

CHARLES MAY, Esquire, has been appointed Acting Assistant Magistrate, Sheriff, and Marshal of the Vice- Admiralty Court, in the place of WILLIAM H. MITCHELL, Esquire, who has obtained Six Months leave of absence, on Medical Certificate.
ALEXANDER GRAND-PRE, Esquire, has been appointed Acting Superintendent of Police. These Acting Appointments will date from the 1st Proximo.

Notice is hereby given, that a Sale by Public Auction of Crown Lands at Aberdeen, for the Construction of Docks, will be held at the Surveyor General's Office on Monday, the First day of June next; the Sale to commence at Three o'clock in the Afternoon.
After which, one Lot on the Queen's Road, near the Old Protestant Burial Ground, will be sold on the ground. Plans of the Lots to be sold and the Conditions of Sale, which, with regard to the Docks are very special, may be seen on application at the Surveyor General's Office.
The following Descriptive Statement of the Lots to be offered at the sale is published for general information.
