GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

The Contract for publishing this Gazette, entered into on the 24th September, 1853, was terminated on the 30th ultimo; and notice is hereby given, that a NEW SERIES of this Gazette will be published hereafter, to commence from the 7th instant, under a New Contract, and that

“THE HONGKONG GOVERNMENT GAZETTE" will, as before, be the only Official Organ for PaOCLAMATIONS, NOTIFICATIONS, and PUBLIC PAPERS, of this Government.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

In consequence of certain applications for Spirit Licenses having been received too. late to be brought under consideration at the Special Sessions of Justices of the Peace, held at the Chief Magistrate's Office, on Wednesday, the 18th of the current Month, pursuant to Notification No. 144, of 14th October last, a further Sessions is hereby appointed to be held at the said Office, on Wednesday, the 30th of December ensuing, for the purpose of consider- ing the said applications.
