GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

The Contract for publishing this Gazette, entered into on the 24th September, 1853, was terminated on the 30th ultimo; and notice is hereby given that a NEW SERIES of this Gazette will be published hereafter, to commence from the 7th instant, under a New Contract, and that
"THE HONGKONG GOVERNMENT GAZETTE"
will, as before, be the only Official Organ for PROClamations, NotIFICATIONS, and PUBLIC PAPERS, of this Government.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.
A. L. INGLIS, Esquire, having proceeded to England on Medical Certificate, W. H. NEWMAN, Esquire, will riate as Acting Harbour Master and Emigration Officer until further notice.
Marine Police Cases will, as on similar occasions previously, be entertained by the ordinary Police Courta the Colony.

Parties indebted to the Crown on account of Rent due on this 25th of June, are requested to pay the same
to the Treasury on or before the 17th proximo; after which date thé Crown Solicitor will be requested to proceed
inst all Defaulters for Arrears due as above.
