Sales of Land by Public Auction will be held, on the Ground to be sold, on Friday and Saturday, the 21th a 25th instant, commencing at 5 o'clock .P.M.

The following Schedule of the Lots for Sale is published for general information. be sold, if practicable, on the 24th instant, and the remainder on the following day.

The usual SUPPLEMENTARY MAILS will be made up on the following morning. LETTERS received from 9 to 11 o'clock A.M., for, a late fee of 6., News- PAPERS I.; and from 11 A.M. to half-past 12 o'clock г.., for a late fee of 1s. on each LETTER, and 2d. on each NEWSPAPER.

All Letters and Newspapers posted between the hours of 11 A.M. and half-past 12 o'clock F.M. must be prepaid.

JULIUS HALLPIKE, Plaintiff,

ALEXANDER WILSON, Defendant, HEREAS an action has been commenced in this Court at the Suit of the above named JULIUS HALLPIKE, against the above named ALEXANDER WILSON, to recover damages for the breach of a Promise and Agreement by the said ALEXANDER WILSON to take the said JULIUS HALLPIKE into partnership in the Firm or Business carried on at Hongkong under the name or style of MACEWEN & COMPANY, and it being alleged

that the said Alexander WILSON does not reside within this Island or its Dependencies, a Writ of Foreign Attachment has been issued, returnable on the Fourth day of July nert, wherein GEORGE NORRIS, of Hongkong aforesaid, Storekeeper, is Garnishee: Notice is hereby given thereof, and that if at any time before final judgment in this action the said ALEXANDER WILSON or any Person on his behalf will give the security and notice, and file the Appearance or Plea required by the Ordinance of this Island, intituled "An Ordinance to provide * for and regulate Process in actions at Law against "Persons absent from the Colony,” the said Attach- ment may be dissolved,
