GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

The Contract for publishing this Gazelle, entered into on the 24th September, 1853, was terminated on the 30th ultimo ; and notice is hereby given that a New SERIES of this Gazette will be published hereafter, to commence from the 7th instant, under a New Contract, and that
"THE HONGKONG GOVERNMENT GAZETTE"
will, as before, be the only Official Organ for PROCLAMATIONS, NOTIFICATIONS, and PUBLIC PAPERS, of this Government.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.
Whereas a barbarous murder was committed at the hamlet of Hakoo-ngam in this Colony, on or about the Sth day of May instant; and whereas by the Verdict of a Coroner's Jury two Persons have been committed to gke their trial for the said crime:
Notice is hereby given, that HER MAJESTY'S PARDON, added to
A REWARD OF TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS,
end if required, a FREE PASSAGE TO AUSTRALIA, will be given to any Person, the actual perpetrator of: Le murder excepted, who shall give such information as shall lead to the final conviction of the guilty Parties.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.
Sealed Tenders will be received at this Office, up to Noon of the 20th day of June instant, for the Privilege of Slaughtering Cattle in the Western Slaughter House for the year commencing the 1st of July next.
Similar but separate Tenders will be received for the like Privilege at the Eastern Slaughter House.
The Conditions in either case shall be such as are set forth in the Markets' Ordinance 1858, and the Bye-Laws sued thereunder, and shall be subject to such modification as may be made by any subsequent revision of that Ordinance or of tlhose Bye-Laws.
