The apparently heavy mortality in this Hospital is owing to the number of Deaths entered under the heads of Dysentery and Inter tana Remittent Fever and Diarrhoea. A very large majority of the fatal cases under these heads were destitute Chinese and Indians, Ld been picked up by the Police in a moribund condition, and were only brought up to the Hospital to die.
