By His Excellency SIR JOHN BOWRING, Knight, LL.D., Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same, Her Majesty's Plenipotent and Chief Superintendent of the Trade of British Subjects in China, with the Advice of the Legisla Council of Hongkong.

An Ordinance to amend Ordinance No. 8 of 1858.

[20th January, 1859.] Whereas it is desirable to put some limit on the selection of the localities to which Persons may deported from this Colony under the Provision of Ordinance No. 8 of 1858: Be it enacted and ordai by His Excellency the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council ther

as follows:-

I. That no Person who shall be deported by His Excellency the Governor in Council, under: to be selected for de- Twenty-eighth Section of Ordinance No. 8 of 1858, shall be deported to any Place other than the Na portation under Ordi- Country of such Person, without such Person's free will and consent. nance No. 8 of 1858.

An Ordinance to amend Ordinance No. 10 of 1858.

[20th January, 1859.] Whereas it is desirable to amend Ordinance No. 10 of 1858: Be it enacted and ordained His Excellency the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council thereof, Section IV of Ordi- follows:- nance No. 10 of 1358 repealed.
